Highly recommend Cycle Surgeon

Matt was VERY helpful with some bike issues I had at the Raven Rock Ramble. I took my bike to him after the ride for a full tune up and it's running good as new.

I'll second the recommendation for Cary Cycle Surgeon. Matt worked on my bikes going back several years while he was at the Spin Cycle. This summer Matt repaired my mountain bike and road bike and also transferred my components to a new road frame for me. His pickup/delivery service is convenient and his work has been flawless.

I will give another A+++++ to Matt on another great fit, this time on my new Cannondale F4 MTB. I am always glad to see Matt as he is a good friend and always walk away having learned something new. So go see Matt for all your cycling needs!

Glad to hear the praise, cause I just left my bike with Matt yesterday :-) And Rover, I am very jealous of a new F4 - that is a sweet looking ride.

So, I'm a big slacker and though I had my bike fitted a month ago, had my first ride with the new fit today. New stem, seat raised, etc.... All I can say is OMG, how did I ride this bike for 3 years set up the way it was? I noticed 3 major things today with the new fit:

1) Hills were not easier really, but I did feel like I expended less energy when i got to the top than I used to

2) I felt completely in control of the bike - something I didn't realize I didn't feel before until Matt made it better. I used to brake down every hill because I felt like the bike was going to get away from me (if that makes any sense). Today I was fine going down hills, around curves and everything. Sounds ridiculous, but it was great.

3) I found myself riding on the hoods (which I never used to do - always reliant on my "suicide" brakes) without even thinking about it. I'd be riding along and look down and think, "hey, my hands are actually more comfortable on the hoods."

These things may sound ridiculous to some people but it's one of those things that you didn't realize how bad it was until it was better. I had been riding my bike knowing it didn't feel right, but couldn't pin point what I needed to change. Thanks for your help Matt!

I concur with everyone here about Matt Loder - he really is one of the best bike mechanics in the Triangle area! He solved a problem my bike was experiencing since I have owned it (one that the "other" local bike shops could not resolve)... and he solved it in about 3 minutes at the MS Ride back in 2008. AMAZING! It instantly rode better than it has ever ridden.

Matt is a magical mechanic and really knows his stuff... so go see him!
