Topic: Peloton Project
Presenter: Dwayne Allen, Tom Wood, and Todd Spain
The Peloton Project is a grass-roots effort devoted to creating a safer environment on the road by promoting positive attitudes between cyclists and motorists. Its focus is primarily the recreational group rides in North Carolina's Triangle area. As a newly formed 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the Peloton Project is targeting law enforcement agencies, group ride leaders, cycling advocacy group cycling clubs, local bike shops, agencies/community action groups involved in bicycle transportation, and businesses with interest toward local community awareness/improvement programs.
The NCBC February program will include presentations by Peloton Project organizers and local group leaders Dwayne Allen, Tom Wood and Todd Spain. Representatives of the Apex and Cary police departments involved in community outreach will be on hand to briefly discuss the motorist perspective of group rides. It should be an enlightening discussion.
