Bryan, Peggy and I are having a Slow Spokes ride starting in Garner and riding 45 miles in the beautiful country roads south of Garner. Most of the ride is on country roads with pretty low traffic. There are a few hill but they are not bad.

We will start the ride in the parking lot of the Lowes Food store at the corner of Timber Dr. and Aversboro Rd. Click HERE for a picture showing where to meet. The ride start time is 9:00 AM. There is a rest stop on the ride at about 19.5 miles.

If you have been looking for a different area to ride in we hope you will join us.

Ashby, the cue sheet had some mistakes, I edited it and attached it here.

The route has a stop at Adams Vineyards on the ride out- if we start at 9AM we'll be there before 10AM. Their tour starts at 11AM, so our timing wouldn't be right for that. If we don't want to time it to go on the tour, maybe we should make the vineyard stop on the route back- if folks wanted to do tasting, it may be better to do that later...

I like the name, Les Bon Ten Roula. I was going to suggest "Le Tour de Chip 'n Seal."

A few of us test rode the route on Sunday and found out the cue sheet from MapMyRide.com had lots of incorrect mileages. I rode it again today and wrote down all the correct mileages. I also modified the route a bit, taking out the short stretch on Ten-Ten and following the same route out and back instead. New cue sheet is attached.

The weather is looking iffy for this Saturday, but I'll keep an eye on it. If it looks like rain, we'll cancel.

Hi Leah,

I hope it doesn't rain and I hope you can make it! I'm thinking an average of 17-20 would be pretty ambitious. They'll be waiting for both of us at the turns. 16-18 probably...

We're meeting at a Lowe's Foods (not Food Lion- there is one down the street.) If you're coming down 401 from Raleigh, bear left onto 70 at the 70/401 split. Turn Right at the light onto Timber Dr. (There's a Target shopping Ctr at that intersection) Take Timber all the way to Aversboro Rd. The Lowe's Foods is at the corner of Timber & Aversboro.

Hope to see you there!

Cool

You may be correct - this is the way I had seen it written when I lived there but it may have been wrong also.

Any way you spell it - Let the Good Times Roll.
