Saturday 1/16/10 Slow Spokes Ride From Salt Box Village - Page 3

Well we had a good turn out with 14 bikes at the start. Two had to bail early due to cramping. At the 19 mile decision point the group split in half. Six did the 50 and six did the 34. I rode with the 34 group who picked up the pace from under 16 to a 16.5 at the finish according to the Cateye. Shortly after the ride started the weather turned absolutely beautiful with a light wind, temps almost 60F and slight overcast. Thanks to all for a good ride.

There were still H-U-G-E sheets of ice today. Even covering some pretty large open water spaces. Of course, every "back bay" and most edges were covered with ice.
