TeamCBC Ride Sun Nov 1st

Hello everyone!

Happy Halloween!

Our next ride is this coming Sunday November 1st. Here are the specifics:

Temperatures will be in the upper 50s and mid 60s and sunny. Looks like a nice day.

The classic Sunday ride from the Carolina Brewing Company is on Sunday November 1st.

NOTE: You MUST be able to average the given speeds on the 72 mile route to ride the route. If you cannot maintain that pace over 72 miles you will need to work on your speed on the 42 mile route. This is for your benefit and safety!

We are going to test out new routes! We attempted to smooth out the routes and are skipping Cokesbury Hill! The 72 IS fast.

When: Sunday, 11/01/09 Please be prompt! Watch your start times.
9:00 72 milers depart (17 MPH+ speed is an average over the distance)
10:30 42 milers depart (Different route here as well)
11:30 26 milers depart (This is also a new route. No Bass Lake Hill!)

Everyone arrives back at the brewery at about 1:30 PM or so.

As usual, Greg will have the brewery open. Make sure to thank Greg and the Carolina Brewing Company for being the sponsor of TeamCBC! CBC is donating the beer to support our MS fundraising efforts so drop in a few coins at the tap tip jar.

Waivers: Everyone who rides will be required to fill out and sign a waiver. We will have waivers available before each ride. You only have to sign the waiver once.

Where:
Carolina Brewing Company
140 Thomas Mill Road
Holly Springs, NC 27540
(Park in the lot or along the street)

Distance:
26 miles
42 miles
72 miles

Cue Sheets Attached (Please print):

Pace:
72 Miles - 17+
42 miles - At your pace, but we recommend riding as a group.
26 miles - At your pace, but we recommend riding as a group.

Contact Person: Bob. Send me an e-mail or call 785-550-6550 if you have any questions.

Oh Well. It is cold wet and raining. The radar doesn't look good. If someone tells me that it isn't raining in Holly Springs I will come up to ride, otherwise I am calling it a rain-out and we'll do it again on the 15th.

This raining on weekends is getting old....

I actually put a rain bike together yesterday for the ride but I didn't think we would get this much rain.

Rain bike huh? What is it? What does it look like? Did Grandmaster Shimano put it together for you?

It's just my cross bike with road tires on it. I wasn't sure if my road tires would fit on the cross rims but they did. I really did not want to use my super crappy CSH specials cause they totally suck!

I also swapped out the pedals and bought another set of pedals for my Orbea....and a Polar watch holder....and extra tubes....and a rain coat....

And yes, Grandmaster Shimano actually did work on that bike. He installed my compact crankset last Fall....and it's not Shimano.
