Bicycle riding group for cyclists in the Raleigh area who prefer to ride at a more relaxed pace, enjoy themselves and support one another. New cyclists are welcomed or returning cyclists may use this group as a springboard to increase their skills then advance to faster groups. This group is a subculture of NCBC (http://www.ncbikeclub.org/). You don't have to be a member of NCBC to ride with us. There are no fees to ride with this group.

NO DROP POLICY.
Slow Spokes rides are designated as NO DROP and someone will ride with the slowest rider. We split up into several groups to accommodate everyone. The rides are posted under the Rides/Meetup (http://www.trianglecycling.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5) section then moved to the Slow Spokes (http://www.trianglecycling.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19) section, so they are viewable in both sections of the forum. Slow Spokes ride announcements are also posted on the calendar. You must be logged into the site to view calendar entries.

Some Slow Spokes have worked hard and increased their speed (up to 20 mph) past our core paces (10-15 mph). Some of these riders want to continue challenging themselves and may organize pickup rides at faster paces. These rides will be posted under the Rides/Meetup (http://www.trianglecycling.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5) section and will clearly state they do not follow the no drop policy. At the ride start, the ride leader may ask whether the group wants to wait at turns for others to catch up.

Please arrive in time to prepare your bike to leave at the ride start time listed. All riders should carry proper equipment in case they have a flat or mechanical issues (spare tube, pump, CO2 cartridge, multi-tool).

It is strongly recommended that you carry your driver's license and health insurance card in case of an emergency. You may also want to program your cell phone phone with an emergency contact number under the name "ICE" In Case of Emergency. Another helpful item is RoadID (http://www.roadid.com/). Please review Bicycling Hand Signals and Safety Pointers (http://www.trianglecycling.com/showthread.php?t=17385) for group riding techniques and safety.

Please print, sign and bring with you (weekend rides only) the attached liability waiver if you are riding with our group for the first time.
