Not everyone liked the turtle on a bike. I still use it for flyers. I like our current logo better.

They did not ship the socks because they didn't pass quality standards inspection and will be reproduced. They will be shipped within the next two weeks.

Here is the story on the socks. The contract was for black bottoms. When they went to sew on the tops, they accidentally grabbed white bottoms.:eek: The first batch didn't fail quality control, according to LG, they were still in production.:confused:

Unfortunately, she said it would take 4 weeks to remake them.:mad:

They are great looking jerseys and I've frequently thought I'd like to have one. Looking through this thread I noted Pugslyyyyy's comment about future designs. When that future design comes along (maybe next year), can you consider making the jersey brighter in color? The only reason I suggest this is for safety reasons. The brighter, or more visible the better. I wouldn't be caught dead in day glow yellow or green off a bike, but I'd rather have it on when riding.

You don't think our neon green jerseys are bright enough?:) The color was chosen specifically for visibility. I prefer neon green to neon yellow or orange, but would consider neon yellow. I don't think I could stomach orange on a regular basis!! What did you have in mind?

I'm not sure when we will change the design. We have to find a volunteer to create a new design or pay for it ourselves. Also, we would have to resolicit donations from sponsors to help off set the costs. It's about $72 for a new design of the same cut, fabric and full zip without sponsor money. If we had to pay someone to design it, it gets quite expensive. We could keep the same design and change the color, but that may put the price back at $72 if LG considers it as a new design.

We can revisit having a new design for 2009 if we can find someone to volunteer their time to create a new design. ****Subliminal message to graphic artists out there...;)****

Sally Heffernan volunteered her time and skills to design our logo and did a great job. We gave her a free jersey and socks in exchange. It came out of the sponsor money.

I bought that exact design on an LG jersey from the Spin Cycle. I loved the design and colors. I asked LG if they could copy it and add our logo and sponsor logos. They did which saved us the expense of paying someone to design a jersey. I think it may have to last us awhile since we don't have fees to offset expenses like this. Free labor on graphic design is hard to find!

I looked at your photo album to refresh my memory. Yea, have to agree the jerseys are plenty bright. And before I go on to contradict myself some more I'll take a large please.

I think it’s a personal thing about bike jerseys in general. I like the design of the jerseys very much. But like so many bike jerseys it reminds me more of camouflage. Not the hunting kind, but the WWII battleship ‘flash’ type of camouflage. Even the brightest jerseys in hot pink and other eye jarring colors seem to disappear when it’s broken up with logos and what not. That’s one reason why I generally opt for solid color jerseys in bright colors. They are boring, but I think more visible (and generally cheaper).

We only have 5 sponsor logos on our jerseys. CSH's preference was not to have their logo lost among so many other logos. I wanted more to offset the price of the first order, but overall I'm glad we chose quality sponsors rather than quantity. That would make a jersey look very busy.

There are changes to the artwork to add a copyright symbol to the SS logo ($65) and to remove the Spiral Graphics logo and replace it with the Triangle Cycling logo ($85) that will cost additional artwork fees ($150 total).

The price of jerseys this order are $55 each. However, I'm going to add $3 to each order to offset the artwork fees. The cost will remain $58, same as last order.

Zonda. Just because you organize this group, you should not have to pay the $102 for the artwork. I agree, Jay should get the free advertising for all he does to keep the forum working.

I thought I was pushing it already adding $3 to the repeat order. I don't feel comfortable asking people for money. That's one reason I don't like doing the large charity rides that require you to raise money.

Let's see how the donations go. Piper Chuck donated $3.63 tonight with his check for the jersey. Thanks Chuck!

White socks are available because LG made a mistake and sent white instead of black. I bought them at a reduced price and have been giving them to ride leaders for volunteering their time.

We have 7 of the 20. That is $35 towards the $100 goal. Surely there are 13 more people that have benefited from riding with the group and would consider giving $5. If you have not been a ride leader, sweeper or organizer, this is a great way to 'give back'.

LG is trying to charge $1 more on the repeat order. The sales person said the price goes up every year, but the price actually has gone down with each order.

She's given me 3 or 4 different prices over the past few weeks for sleeveless and short sleeved. Their pricings is very subjective. The customer service at LG is unbelievably poor.

At this point, I would like to cancel both orders and look at a resdesign for 2009 with another company. I can return the checks to Carlos, Gayle, Esther and Weldon who have already paid for a short sleeved jersey.

The $59 and $52 prices are based on ordering 20 short sleeve and 20 sleeveless jerseys. There are only 12 orders for short sleeved, 3 of those haven't answered any of my emails. There are only 9 orders for sleeveless. I had planned to pay for the extra jerseys

With the recent problem from LG and 3 people won't answer my emails to pay I don't want to place the order.
