I mapped out a tenative route for Saturday. Approximately 42+/- miles, leaves from my house and heads out towards the route Jay, Tracy, Charley, and myself did a couple weeks ago. I think it also follows some of the roads that were part of the Ride for the Land back in June. This will include a trip up THE WALL and O'Neil Street. For those who haven't had the pleasure of this part of Clayton, you will be in for a treat :p
There is a convenience store up on Main St in Wendell and then there's another one at the corner of 3rd St & Selma Rd. There's some good climbs getting to Wendell also.
This will not be a "no drop" ride, meaning that if you can't maintain a 15-17mph average pace, you will be dropped. We have been regrouping at intersections, so if someone gets dropped, you may be able to catch up.
Ride time: 10:30 AM
Place: My house (email or PM me for directions)
Route: Firm route will be posted by Thursday evening.
Distance: Something along the lines of 40-45 miles.
Pace: 15-17mph (end ride average). Pace during ride may be higher or lower than 15-17mph.
Garmin CRS file attached. No can do - file is too large. will email to those who have an Edge.
I'll try to get a google gmap link of tenative route posted shortly. Cue sheet will be posted by Thursday evening.
Gmap of tenative route. (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=661354) *******Updated Route to show going to Wendell.********
I updated the CRS file limit so you should be able to attach it now.

Sorry you won't be riding for a while. Did you get hurt?
Haven't had any takers for the ride yet, but it's early in the week. If I don't get any, will just do the ole standby 25miles and maybe add some more on by riding over in your area Tracy.

If you want to...no problem if you don't or no one else wants to ride, it could be slightly chilly for an AM ride anyways. We can always save it for a weekend when it's a little warmer, maybe get some of the riders from Raleigh/Cary/Apex out for that ride.

I can’t ride with you on Saturday. Take a look at a small route change.
May want to take South Hollybrook Road off Third St. in Wendell and it comes out at highway 231. It is smoother and a lot less traffic.

I have always wondered if being able to breathe through both sides of the nose is all that it's cracked up to be so I am having septoplasty in the morning. Hopefully it will make keeping up with you and Jay a little easier.

LOL.. I'm wondering how easy it would be to ride around without the equivalent of a bag of cement on my back. Hopefully in about 30 more pounds I can find out :)

Hope everything goes well tomorrow and you have a quick recovery!

seems no one was interested in a ride to Wendell this weekend, 'cept for Jay, so I'm canceling.
I'm also canceling cause I've developed a rash that's kinda painful when riding, so I need to let this get better and not do a really (sorta) long ride this weekend. Guess riding the trainer all week and not using the "good" shorts caused this.
Temps are gonna be between 55-62 in the afternoon, so I may try to get out and do a short/quick 25miles. It could be less than that, depending on how things feel; maybe I can get the SO to ride too.
Guess we can try for something else next weekend...I would like to ride 42miles, a mile for every year young I am :D
Later - Karen.

of course you do!!!! i didn't mean it like that....:o
if i didn't have this "problem", i had planned on you and i riding to wendell. maybe next weekend will be good.
i'm not sure that i want to do the BJP ride next weekend, don't really care for a lot of climbing, so wendell might be an alternative. i'll keep an eye on the weather, maybe it will be nice next weekend too.
