We are scheduled to ride in Clayton next Sat. to return the favor to the cyclists who drove so far to ride with us in Cary in the fall.
We can use Jay's route from a few weeks ago. Jay said he could also do cuesheets for two shorter routes to cover the slower groups. Jay, if you don't have time to do that, we can use your longer route and ride half the distance then U-turn.

I'd be interested depending on scheduled start time and weather conditions.
If you want to do a ride out of Clayton, its probably best to use the Zack Attack route from the Cyclepath's web page. I'll look at it and see if it can be shortened up any.

you could do this:
zack attack: 42miles
big boys don't cry: 29miles or bluegrass reunion A: 30miles
easy rider: 23miles
depending on the start time (10am?), i may have to do a shorter route. my daughter will be coming into town on saturday most likely around lunch time, and i need to be home earlier.

Good Googley Moogley
Just watching wral weather (http://www.wral.com/weather/)/news and Saturday morning low is something like 15!!! and a high of 38!!! I think winter is here.
I don't think I'm gonna be riding outside if those are the temps.
Zonda, what do you think of doing, like a ride from Spin Cycle one weekend, one from Cycling Spoken Here, then a North Raleigh ride and/or Clayton ride the other two weekends out of the month. (not this month, but the following months). Or, 3 rides from shops and one from somewhere else?
You would still be fullfilling the obligation to do the shop rides, yet get an opportunity to do rides in other areas. Anyway - just an idea......
Karen.

I saw the predicted weather report also. Think I might be on the trainer myself.

Karen,
I would rather continue rotating rides from Clayton and north Raleigh until we start the regular shop rides. We will fulfull our obligation either March or April through early November, so I thought it would be nice to try other routes closer to where some of you live who commute to Cary. Also, we still have the issue of too much afternoon traffic riding from the shops at 10 or 11:00. We can talk about it more tomorrow at the social and see what everyone wants to do. Thanks
Im showing 52 on Saturday.. Weather.Com usually ends up being a lot more accurate than WRAL.

Ha just got this one jay I looked at waether.com amd I see 42 sat that is to cold for me if there is a wind chill. Zonda if we start to ride from the shop again in in april whe can to maybe some rides in March from the other sights. Then at Nov we could ride the other places again to get away from the holiday traffic like last season. I would like to do a ride with to many hill every so often you know me and hill yeek

Um, based on a little study I have personally done, I conclude WRAL predictions in the winter are biased towards low temps, and weather.com / weather channel are biased high. But farther out than 48 hours, neither is all that consistently close. For Sat, one can't trust either place any earlier than Thurs evening. And by that time, the two are usually converging.
Yea.. theyve dropped Sat back to 43 now. I doubt there will be many takers for a ride in that range. Looks like it might warm up next week a little but again, so far out, it's purely speculative.

well, if i can find myself a warmer jacket, i might be brave enough to try a 20-25mi ride saturday as long as we don't have a bunch of wind.

temps are back up to above 50 for saturday! i'm gonna be riding saturday cause i'm sick 'n tired of riding a trainer!
I rode 25 miles today. Like I figured, I was overdressed but it wasn't bad. Worst problem was having to keep stopping and adjust the damn seatpost on the bike. Guess I'm going to have to get a new seatpost between now and the weekend or ride the other bike.

daughter isn't going to be here till later in afternoon, after she gets off work. so, i'm open to riding suggestions for saturday....
Ill do whatever.. Im open for anything. We could do my 20 mile loop if you want to ride from my place. Its only got that 1 long climb and a few shorter ones.. its not a bad route as long as the wind isnt up. The wind was pretty bad today.

Jay, I'm not seeing anything in the 50s for Sat. I think it's too cold. Is there anyone wanting to ride in the 30s - 40s? Brrrhhh...
I talked to Mike H. about having a ride from Wendell next Sat. The Frostbite Tour is the week after that. Planning for north Raleigh on March 3.

Hi Zonda, Thanks for all the work you did on the jerseys. I’m working on some routes starting from Wendell. About what mileages do you need.
Keep warm. Mike

Thanks Mike. I would like a 10, 20, 30 and 40. They don't have to be separate routes. We can do out and back on the two shorter routes. Thanks for helping!

yeah, i'm gonna ride saturday. i ordered a PI barrier jacket tues evening, supposed to arrive friday. haven't heard anything about it, if it's to be delivered then or not, so i'm planning on layering up good and doing a 20-25mi ride w/or w/out it.
i have to get out of the house and off my torture device! if anyone is interested in getting their own personal torture device, please let me know as i've got just the thing for you....
I'll ride Sat and probably Sunday too.. I rode yesterday and it was like 49-50 and it wasnt bad. My face got a little cold, that was about it. Once again WRAL and Weather.Com are not even close so I guess Ill wait until tomorrow and see what shakes out before I make a final decision.
