I haven't seen any mention of this weekend's NCBC ride from Lake Wheeler. Any Slow Spokes taking part? I hope to do the 43 mile route.
Im considering doing the metric.

It is on the calendar. I may be at the park at the end. I rode it last Sunday marking the Metric route wit Adrian. Have fun.

Michelle suggested doing a Cary/Lochmere beginner ride (7-15 miles) Sunday, so I think that will work best for me getting the courage up to get on the road again.
We forgot to ask David how many people usually attend the Spring Rally. I think the turnout isn't as high as the Summer Rally typically because it's colder, but it will have manned SAG stops, etc. and be a good ride. I'm sure there are others also wanting longer distances who plan to ride.

If you do the Lockmere ride I think I will do that one instead of the sat since I think the time is going to be close to be somewhere else for me

We will definitely do a Cary/Lochmere beginner Sunday. I'll work out the details with Michelle today and get it posted tonight. I'm shooting for an afternoon ride since it will be warmer and that will give people time to get home from church, but I'll have to see what works for Michelle.

I don't know either route (Cary/lochmere or Lake wheeler). Is there a map? Just point me to a url, please. I may be interested in the Cary one, although I want to do 20 miles this sunday. I can always do it multiple times.
Unlike Zonda the road-warrior, I was born a chicken (and will die a chicken and proud of it) and I definitely prefer the less intimidating routes :-).
This saturday I'm doing a trail run w/ the ncrc, so I can't ride on saturday.

donnaThe NCBC ride from Lake Wheeler will have three routes that I know of - a 43 mile route, a metric century (100 KM - ~62 miles) and a century (100 miles). The cue sheets are posted here: http://www.ncbikeclub.org/queue_sheets/2007_spring_rally.html
The Lochmere route is a seven mile ride that can be riden one, two, or three times for a total of 7, 14, or 21 miles. It is a good beginner route, since almost all of it is on painted bike lanes. The cue sheet is here: http://www.trianglecycling.com/showpost.php?p=179860&postcount=2

I am not riding on Sunday in the NCBC Spring Rally, but Scott and I are working a rest stop.
You won't see us on the 43 mile route. We are rest stop #1 on the 2 longer routes. See you at the BP station parking lot!
