I need to pick up a jersey, what is the best shop in the area in terms of variety and volume?

Hard to go wrong with Performance, price and selection wise (CARY)

I agree that Performance in Cary is a good choice, but if you happen to be in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area, Performance in Carrboro often has more good deals on closeout clothing than the Cary store has. It is not good enough to make a special trip to Carrboro because you never know ahead of time what they will have on clearance, but if you are going to be on that end of the Triangle anyway, the selection is sometimes better than the one in Cary.

I love Performance, but you should always compare their prices online, in the catalog, and the store prices. Sometimes they are different, but they will price match the best deal at the store. Also if you buy something in the store and find it in the catalog or online cheaper they will refund your money.

I've never been to the Carrboro store, but makes sense that they would have a lot more closeout / overstock / etc, coming over from their warehouse and returns from all the stores.

The Carrboro store is much smaller.

I think I went to almost every shop in Raleigh today except for original All Star and the shop which wont be named. I'd list them in this order for clothing.

1 - Performance
2 - The Trek Store
3 - Cycling Spoken Here
4 - The Bicycle Chain
5 - All Star Cary
6 - Frank's

Frank's is a joke for clothing. If you want clothing, dont waste your time riding out there.

Performance is in the lead by a long shot, tho. A disturbing trend with Performance, tho, is that they have started carrying mostly their own brand of everything and way less of other manufacturers. Over half the men's clothing are Performance. A lot of components, they are only carrying the Forte line as well.. 4 of 6 road stems were Forte and all their seatposts were Forte.

Remember that Performance will price match against their own website or Nashbar.:D
