Thanks to everyone that came out for the Cyclepath ride today. It ended up being a pretty decent day despite the weather. It was a bit overcast but the sun was peaking through by the end of the ride.

My stats were 29.13 miles with an average speed of 21.4

Other than almost getting taken out by a HUGE pitbull, it was a pretty uneventful ride, just a hammerfest. I almost dropped out of the lead pack after the pitbull incident tho.. someone was watching over me today, how I missed that dog, I will never know. I was in the second position in a pack of 6 guys and we were straight hammering it about 23 MPH at this particular point. The dog ran in between me and the lead rider. I saw him coming so I was already on my brakes but I couldnt have missed him but by inches. After he ran in between us, he double backed and came back through the group again. By this time, everyone was scattering trying to miss him and the other riders. We had to slow down and let our heart rate recover from that incident.

Apparently others on the ride also had a run in with this dog. He was white with red eyes and huge.. scary to say the least.

Looks like next week's ride is Bluegrass Reunion A. Ill get a Garmin file posted in the next couple of days.

Yea, it was a great day for a ride. Not too chilly and the rain held off too.

I got held up at the start, getting my husband's bike from someone who was trying to sell it to a friend, and I had my own solo hammerfest to try and catch up to Jay. Damn white dog with the red eyes 'bout took me out as well. Came right up to my front wheel and then shot ahead and turned right in front of me. Gave him a face full of water. If I'd had my pump, I woulda whacked him on the head.

I had an 18.8 average coming into the rest stop, where, I had hoped to catch Jay and ride with a group back in. But, that wasn't to be today. Working my butt off to get there and you guys were already gone, kinda discouraged me cause I knew I wouldn't catch up then. BobS and a coupla other people were there and just seemed to be hanging around, so I stopped for, maybe a minute and took on off after Jay.

BobS and his group caught up with me at Hwy 96 and I hollared to Bob to wait up (I was stopped getting sunglasses out of pocket)...shoot, he just blew on by me and kept going:eek: Guess it really is "every man for himself" :D

Cujo came after me again on the way back and got some more water to the face. That just doesn't faze him. Gonna get me some dog spray this week.

Overall, my stats were 29.1miles, 17mph average. I'm happy with those numbers, considering I was solo the whole ride. Just wish there were more people who rode in the 17-19mph range. Seems to either be 20+mph riders or 14-15mph riders and no one in between.
