Looks like I will be able to attend. I think I'd rather be a spectator than volunteer. I've more than met my quota for voluteer work this year.

We need to figure out our plans for this, where to meet, what time, etc. Any suggestions?

So far we have:
Me, Betsy, Brian J., Karen, Joel and Sandy. Jon T. is volunteering.

As for a parking option, we should be able to use my work parking lot.
http://www.raleighchamber.org/chinfo/directions.html

Its a few blocks away from the course and with the new convention center being built you have to walk an extra block around.

The area can be sketchy in the evening, cars have been broken into, but its usually the ones that are left overnight. Not sure how street parking will be around Moore Square on a Friday night.

Thanks for the suggestion. Guess we need to stay in groups after dark.

Is anyone available to meet at 5:00 or 5:30?

I found this on their website.

Spectator Parking

Spectators attending the Raleigh Downtown Criterium have both the option of on-street parking or various parking decks and lots available throughout downtown Raleigh. Please click here (http://www.godowntownraleigh.com/section.cfm?groupid=8) to access Raleigh’s interactive parking lot guide. Several parking decks on Wilmington St. will not be accessible or hard to access after 5:30 pm on race day, including the Moore Square, the Alexander Square, and the Wilmington St. parking decks.
Raleigh Parking ordinances are strictly enforced; you are urged to obey parking restrictions.

I have to work until 6 and it doesn't look like I'll get out early. Brian and I will be leaving straight from my work (in Garner) to come downtown, so I will just have to call someone when we get there to find out where you guys are standing.

Sorry for the delay with the final details. It’s been a hectic week.

Here is a suggestion for parking tomorrow:

312 S. Salisbury Street
Raleigh, NC 27601

Since we are all arriving at different times, we will have to exchange cell phone number via private email so we can find each other. I’ll send an email shortly providing cell phone numbers I have. We can try to find a restaurant once we get down there. I will probably arrive at 4:30, Karen & Joel shortly after that, Sandy & Mike D. around 5:30, Betsy & Brian after 6:00. I don’t know when the others are arriving.

Here is who is coming:

Me
Betsy
Brian J.
Karen
Joel
Sandy,
Mike D.
Gerard
Elaine
Boyd
Harry

i was actually trying to figure out if she was riding with a team at the event. she seemed like a strong rider but at a disadvantage because she looked like she was solo.

i also think the vanderkitten jerseys are cool.

Hey Brian. I think that would be a nice "Yeah Betsy, you finished your course work!!!" gift or "I'm going to miss you while you do your clinical" gift. Your choice.
