I'm looking for a 56'ish cm carbon roadbike frame. Anyone have one for sale or know where I can get a good deal on one?

I know this is a longshot, but being a college student, I cant just go out and drop $BIG$ on a frame.

Whats your budget? I know where you can get a Fuji Team RC frame at a pretty good deal and maybe a Team Issue frame at a decent deal.. Id have to check the size on the Team Issue tho.

as far as a budget goes, that's all dependent upon the frame I guess.

I'm willing to spend money on a nicer frame.

That would be great though if you could let me know about either of those frames.

so you would be willing to spend up to say $2000 for a really nice frame?

While I'm sure that's a good deal, that's a bit more than I was hoping to spend on one right now.

:)

I'd LIKE to keep it under a grand. That's $1000 in number form.

I can swing a little more, but lets see what that'll get me.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I ended up picking up a 06 Giant TCR C3 frame on ebay for a GREAT price.

Giants have wonky geometry.. hopefully it fits you.

I assume you got the PM I sent you with info on where to get a frame. Since you didnt bother to respond and at least say thanks, I wasnt sure tho.

I test rode a Giant last week and actually really liked it. The deal I got on the frame was unbelievable.

Sorry for not PM'ing you and saying thanks, I figured THIS

Thanks for all the help guys.

was enough.

Good for you!

Is this just gonna be a frame swap, or are you putting a new group / components on?

Hammerhead

Just a frame swap at the moment. I'll slowly be upgrading components as I find good deals on them or as they wear out.

I have mainly 105 and ultegra components on there right now. The only real upgrades that I think I'll want is a carbon crankset, ultegra rear der. and a carbon handlebar.

I've just done a lot of pricing. Podium Cycles is hard to beat for groups (better than GVH right now), and gottaridebikes is good for about everything else - especially with the 15% off your first order.

I ended up buying everything from gottaridebikes, since they have free shipping and will do price matches.

thanks for the info. I've been buying most of my stuff from Performance lately, as they've had some really good deals.

I'll check into the places you suggested. :)

Performance is the best local deal for sure. But mail order prices almost always can beat brick-and-mortar, and if you order from performance you get hit with sales tax and shipping.

welp, I got the frame in the mail the other day. After about 2 hours of wrenching, I finally got the bad boy together and tuned. I LOVE IT.

Build:

06 Giant TCR C3 frame
XERO XR1 wheelset w/ Panaracer Stradius Pro's
Ultegra Front D. (brand new)
105 Rear D.
Ultegra 6600 crankset (brand new)
Ultegra 6600 BB
Ultegra 9spd chain
Ultegra 9spd cassette
105 Brakes & Levers
Carbon seatpost
Specialized stem, bar & Body Geometry saddle (taken straight off my Allez)

The frame came with a carbon fiber seat that weighs 125grams. Light, but not very comfortable.

I need to find a scale to see how much this bad boy weighs. Not the lightest bike i've ever seen, but definitely lighter than my Allez.

I also plan on finding a shorter front stem as this frame's geometry is quite different from my Allez, but it rides really well and is surprisingly comfortable. This think corners like it's on rails. VERY sensitive steering.

When I read the reply I was impressed that Amy put together her own bike! Now it makes sense.
