I'm not a bike salesman, or that big into capitalism in general, but I ran across this deal that I though our group might like to know about. I cant buy a new bike right now, but if I could I’d seriously consider this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/SHIMANO-DURA-ACE-ROAD-BIKE-NEW-10-SPD-GROUP-AM-CLASSIC_W0QQitemZ150134040909QQihZ005QQcategoryZ98 084QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The ad is a little mysterious, but I’ve bought a bike from Chicabike before and was very happy with it. I’m almost certain the bike Chicabike is selling is the same as this bike at Bikesdirect, http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/windsor/bradford07.htm.

I’m sure Chicabike would be happy to give more info directly. At $1,300 it’s a great deal. I doubt you could buy a new bike locally with the same gear for less that $3000. I ride a Winsor and have been very happy with it.

I guess my question would be, if you want Dura-Ace would you really want to keep it on that bike? And if not wouldn't it make more sense to just buy a brand new Dura Ace gruppo for $1050 and not have to worry about taking it off the donor bike?

Maybe so except when you buy the whole bike you get an American Classic wheelset, seatpost, bars, a frame, seat, etc that you can sell later.
