Anybody know what's up with this ride?

The website says that you have to register by 6/23 to get the pre-registration prices ($20), but registration is 'coming soon'?

I plan to ride in this, too. At this point, I have not decided whether it will be the 50 or the 67, but I am leaning towards the 50.

Please join us THIS SATURDAY (July 28th) for the 3rd annual Cup 'n' Cone Tour to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. If you have already registered for the 2007 Cup 'n Cone Tour, thank you! We look forward to seeing you at Goodberry's at High House Road and Davis Drive in Cary. If you have not yet registered, time is running out...
Register online at: http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1464742
This year we have an even better route with distances of 30, 48, and 67 miles. The 48 and 67 mile routes include the climb up "col de Lystra". The challenging 67 mile route includes 2,750 ft of climbing. The last 18 miles of both routes is "gentle" (and easier than last year's finish).
Enjoy Maple View Farm ice cream at the mid-point (48 and 67 mile routes) and Goodberry's Frozen Custard at the finish (all participants). In addition to our great rest stops you'll find an extremely well-marked route, SAG support, and bicycle mechanic support by REI. Also, the first 250 cyclists to finish get a coupon for a free original Chick-fil-A sandwich at Chick-fil-A at Stone Creek Village (near the ride start/finish).
Online registration closes late Thursday night. Day-of-ride registration will be available for $30. All profits go the National MS Society. In 2006, over 220 cyclists raised $4,000 to fight MS. Invite you friends to join you for this terrific ride. Let's make 2007 even bigger!!
For details on this year's Cup 'n Cone Tour and a description of the improvements you'll enjoy go to our event web site: http://cupncone.googlepages.com/

Attached are draft cue sheets for the ride. I asked when they would be final and this was the reply from the ride organizer:
I don't see them changing. They just need to be checked for typo mistakes.

Wear your Slow Spokes jersey if you want to find someone to ride with at the ride. ;)
It’s easier to find each other among the mass of riders. I’ll take a photo of the group around 7:20 a.m. for anyone interested in gathering with our group.

Me and Kristian are in for the 30 at the moment, but I may "upgrade" to the 48 if I'm feeling particularly adventuresome tomorrow.
Also: Cisco is looking for riders for the MS-150 in New Bern this September, so if anyone is interested in doing that with their team, let me know.

The ride was great today. My Daughter Beth and Son in Law George decided to go ahead and buy my Grandson Alec a rode bike. He was riding a Hybrid before. Now we are all just trying to keep up with him, he's 13. Here are my stats for today:
Time: 1 hr 36 min
Distance: 29.9 miles
Pace: 18.5 mph
See what I mean by trying to keep up, Alec is making us all work, but it's a good thing and we are having fun!!!!
Look forward to seeing all of you tonight!!!!!!!

Well it was a great ride. Quite hot and humid though! We stopped at all the water points.

I rode most of the way with Mike D and Andrew. Here are my stats.
Distance: 48.6
Pace: 16.9
Time: 2:52
Mike was a little faster, and Andrew was a little slower, especially on le Col du Lystra. Beautiful weather and a great route. What more could we ask for.

Wow, Rebecca...I need to find myself a teenager to draft!
I had a great ride, too, with lots of help from Elaine & Boyd. I was averaging over 17 for the first hour - including my first-ever run up the Col de Lystra! - but still had a fantastic average for me, overall. I also learned that Elaine doesn't like to stop at rest stops :) .
Distance 48 miles
Time 2:55
Pace 16.3

Did the whole thing, managing to eek out 17.4. No longer a Lystra virgin here  Thanks to Jon who kept me from falling so far behind that I'd still be on the route!
Cheers,
Andy

No problem. They said it was a flatter route than last year, but I still had almost 3400 feet of climbing (thats almost 2/3 of a mile of vertical elevation!)

We had 18 riders at the Cup’n’Cone ride. It was great seeing everyone wearing their Slow Spokes jerseys!;)
I rode the 30-mile route with Michelle, John (Floyd), Kristian and Betsy.
A few miles after the ride start, we heard a loud pop. Kristian had a flat tire start. Michelle changed her tire. She couldn’t get air in the tire with her pump, so we tried my CO2 cartridge. Still couldn’t get air in the tire. Along came the SAG vehicle to our rescue, we thought. The guy had an electric pump. He promptly pumped Kristian’s tube until it popped!! Kristian didn’t have a second tube, so she had to leave with the SAG vehicle. He picked up a few more riders along the way and took them to the 1st SAG stop. REI was there and changed Kristian’s flat, so she was able to rejoin the ride. We had a great ride and I really enjoyed this route.
My stats
Distance: 30 miles
Pace: 14.4 mph
Time: 2:04
