This is the second of these rides. I did the first one, and despite crummy weather, it was very well done - beautiful, good quality route, plus good and food (burritos for lunch!). The route is different this year, though so I can't vouch for it.
It's a long drive for me to get there, so I'm debating. Is anyone else planning to do it? Early registration ends Jul 13, but you can register on the day.

I just decided to switch from Operation Red Sleigh to this, mainly because of the driving, and the change from 25miles to 20km for their shortest ride. I have a pool party to go to that afternoon in N Raliegh, so I want to keep my car road time limited. I live in Durham, so I'm figuring it'll take me about an hour to get to Goldston. The only thing I haven't decided is whether to take my son - waiting to see his mental state, as I know he can handle 30 miles physically.

That looks like fun. I may do that instead of the Cyclepaths ride on saturday.

I've signed up and I'm planning on riding the 45 mile option. Jim from the Wednesday PM (Slow Spokes) ride apparently is signed on for the 60 miles.
If anyone wears their Slow Spokes jersey Saturday, I'll know who to look for.

Boy, what a great day for a ride. Nice route, except for all the rail crossings!

It was nice to ride out there. I always thought the countryside around Sanford looked nice (mainly from going down to see Charlie) but had never ridden there before.
Our only problem was we rode the route quicker than they got the rest stops set up. There were three rest stops and only the third one was there (which was a good thing, really needed to refill water bottles).
But they fed us awesome burritos afterwards.

I rode the 45 miles. Good route, except for some rough roads. Surprise burritos were icing on the cake. Interesting rest stop #1 at House in the Horseshoe.
