Reading is fundamental, comprehension is good. Jay's comment is well
placed given past experience.
Incredibly sad that the AARP fights so hard to keep the motor vehicle
licensing folks from monitoring and testing elderly drivers.
Another senseless, and probably preventable loss of someone who seems
to have been a great human being.

Dumbass,
"h*&^#t" is code for "helmet". Didn't you see the H and the T?
The comment was about helmet flame wars, not about flaming the
octogenarian who killed the cyclist. You see, both cyclists involved
in the accident sustained serious head injuries, yet both were wearing
a helmet. Some dung-munchers would use that coincidence as evidence
that helmets are useless. Others will respond with great vigor that
helmets work most of the time and this was a particularly severe
accident that nothing would've prevented the head injuries. It'll go
back and forth, ad nauseum...

The most important thing is stressing seat belts and helmets instead of safe
and sane driving. It doesn't matter how many people are murdered as long as
the government can say it was their own fault.

Dickwad,
No, there was too much garbage between the h and t. I thought he was
just obfuscating "****ing" or something. As in, here goes the knee-jerk
****ing attacks on motorists.
BTW, I only read the Berkeley site, I didn't want to register for the CC
Times.

Ah, now that I understand better, yes, for protecting one's life they
are useless. You really don't think 1" of styrofoam can protect you
from anything other than cuts and abrasions, do you? If you do I'd sure
like a taste of whatever drugs you're using.

While I agree with your opinion of what has happened
in the past, I wish you guys would not respond to these
threads by saying "Oh look now the flamewar will happen"
before any of the flamers actually do. You're making it
a self-fulfilling prophecy. In fact, RBR's top h----t flamer
appears to be on a brief leave of absence. Just try to
step back and calm down; we can't control whatever
dumb things somebody says in response to a tragedy,
but we can control our own.
I am very sorry to read about this news, and it reminds
me that every healthy day is a little bit lucky. That is all.
Thanks,
Ben

Oh, great... you took the bait and posted the first anti-helmet rant.
thanks a million for making sure the damn helmet flame war gets
started.
For the record, before anyone jumps in my ****... I am NOT taking a
position on the helmet issue at all. I'm just shocked that numbness,
er... GT didn't get the meaning behind the earlier post.

Greg,
Wait till Kunich gets back and you can have your
helmet argument with him. In the meantime, I thought
the thread subject "RIP" stood for "Rest in Peace,"
not "Rest in Pointless profane tirade." I have no
objection to profane tirades usually, I just think this
isn't the occasion for one. Show some class and
remember it isn't always about you.

Are we doing amphetamine tests on the July peloton this year, or should we
make them sign an oath forcing them to read rbr daily for a year if they
test positive.

The July peloton's doping problem is overblown. It's drinking problem
is not. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it helps to
know if you should be watching out for fast moves and erratic actions
or someone puking on your shoes.

Ok, since it's July now I'll start a new metatroll thread.
