Hi Folks,
This year's Ride for Research & Cary Cycling Celebration will be bigger than before. It's being held at Regency Park this year, and will be based at the Koka Booth Ampitheater.
Among the many new activities will be fully supported rides of 25, 50, 75 and 100 miles with sag stops, refreshments, and motorcycle monitoring of the riders. There will be family fun rides, a Bicycle Rodeo, BMX & Trials Demonstrations, and a lunch catered by Moes.
For all of the details, take a look here:

Because of the many new activities, there is a greater need for volunteers than we've had in the past. Tony Clark, who is supervising the event for the Town of Cary, has specifically asked me if we have anyone who can help with staffing the rest stops on the rides. They can also use a few people to help lead the Family Fun Rides. These are easy rides of 5-7 miles that travel through coned-off sections of local roads.
The NC Bike Club will also be operating a covered table with handouts that describe our club. We will answer any questions that interested cyclists or potential cyclists might have. The table will be open from around 9 AM to 2:30 PM. Esther and I plan to help run this table, but I'd really appreciate it if some more NC Bike Club members would help us for 2-3 hours during the event, so we can check out the other activities.
If you would like to help staff a rest stop on one of the rides or lead a Family Fun Ride, please help them coordinate it by filling out this form:

If you would like to help run our club table, please email me at scottchilcote@gmail.com or PM me here. Let me know if you have a preference what time of day to help.
Thanks very much!
