View Full Version : Pannier needs stiffer back sheet

I have an old pair of Cyclepro panniers, the kind that drape over the
rear rack. The main problem is that the back sheets have lost their
stiffness and bend in toward the spokes. So I was thinking about
replacing the back sheets with polyethelene sheet (HDPE), maybe 3mm
thick. Does anyone out there have experience in doing this sort of
repair?

Thanks.

Bill

Hi Bill,

I've done this to an old set of cheapo blackburns when I was studying.
It work fine. I didn't want to mess around with the stiching so I just
cut the sheet to match the pannier and pop riveted everything together.

Cheers

Joel
