51-299-428 Wheel Road Single Speed Front 28H -Black $189.95
51-299-432 Wheel Road Single Speed Rear 32H -Black $209.95

The new Ritchey catalog has mention of a new SS 700c wheelset.
Anybody seen these? Are they like Chris King's with a tiny SS
cassette, or just thread on (preferred)?

Don't see 'em on the site, but the cassette style is marvelous. You
never have to suffer a stuck cog, and Shimano DX kit runs a whopping
$5/cog.

BUT no use as a fixie and I think not 120mm(not sure about that one.

Phil hubs(flipflop), to OpenSport rims, DT spokes..about the same
price.

I'll be running it as a 130 spaced SS cross bike and as a fixed gear,
so flip flop it the best bet. Formula/IRO is probably the 2nd
option. Phil stuff would be nice, but after build costs...they get up
there.

True. I saw the name "Ritchey" and SS mtbs came to mind. For a road
wheel, I'd just build up some Formula hubs with whatever flavor rim
I'm into at the moment. Crostinis if I could find them. Add some
tapenade for a delicious wheel.

Remember lots of 120mm spaced rear flip/flops can be made into a
126/130/135 rear hub with the additoion of a 174mm axle...Not needed
for some to 126mm..maybe not even 130..probably for 135mm.

I'll be running it on an On One Pompino or IRO Rob Roy frame so 130. I
don't see why Ritchey would offer a non-flip flop considering the
market for SS/Fixed Gears these days. We'll see what come up.

And of course Phil Wood can be bought in 120, 126 or 130. This side of
the water, we use Goldtec
https://www.betd.co.uk/product_list.asp?CategoryID=15
available in 120, 126, 130 or 135 and 28, 32 or 36 holes, at about
$225 ex. VAT they may be a little cheaper than Phil's, but only a few
bucks.

yeah - I know I have some options, but a real 130 hub would result in
a strong wheel if I'm taking it offroad. That, and swapping axles is
a bit more of a pain than I want to deal with if I'm buying the wheels
new. I guess I'll just have to wait for Interbike.
