The reason for the Euro cycling unions to meet:
"We want to accentuate the fact that the biggest problem affronting the
sport is doping,"

I say horse**** - the biggest problem is that the testing regime is too
scattered among countries, and that hype and innuendo are creating a frenzy
around the sport. Tighten up your testing regimes, make sure procedures are
followed, and return to a rule-based system where you're innocent until
proven guilty.

For example, Though in '06 Ullrich and Basso weren't allowed to start the
tour, had there been better coordination between the countries and testing
regimes, that whole matter would have been cleared up sooner rather than
have it linger on for a year. As for Rasmussen, whether he's guilty or not,
the way he was kicked out was patently unfair.
