In the U.K. the government regulates bicycle lighting. And, I think
that we in the USA probably benefit from asian manufacturers striving
to meeting U.K. government regulations.
So, your assertion that bike lights aren't regulated is more or less a
fiction. The majority of bike lights sold in the USA are also sold in
the U.K., ergo, the majority is regulated by a government entity ~
just not the US government.
Today, Europe keeping microsoft honest, and stopping them from anti
competitive and anti-trust activities. Today Europe is also keeping
bike light manufactuers honest. The EU in many ways is outperforming
the American government.
Shame on the U.S. government for falling behind the EU !!
