That whole list is just silly. The headline is "Power 100," they've got Tiger
Woods at #2. How much "power" does he have? Can he write rules? Decide who is
and isn't invited to a tournament? Schedule events? Choose courses? He's just a
player, an athlete. They had Lance Armstrong on the list, he has nothing to do
with sport at the moment, has no team, does not compete and doesn't pull any
strings. Couldn't even get a proper sponsorship deal with the team he did have.

This is just a list of 100 guys with something to do with sports.

ah no, this is a serious list from a serious mag for reader who think
daze serious biz types and off course doctor's wantin to spread
communicable diseases. Would Biz reveal the analysis model? contacts,
money to spend, money to borrow, marketing influence (Woods),
something to say like Greenspan. Where are the drug people? I didn't
have time to wade thru it.
Armstrong is, like Woods and Hamilton, a great American. If Lance sez
I should eat dried kelp maybe i'd buy a bag.

And have more power than any rider, including LANCE.

D.Pound comes in at 32 ! Incroyable
Followed by the wild bunch

all down hill after ...
23.
28.
And giving perspective on the analysis model or reality?
56. Jeff Gordon
57. Bernie Ecclestone

Is Hamilton on the list?

Overall, while money, peer power and connections are significant
factors toward a high ranking, a herd of cattle to lead is the major
component.

I don't know from ***** but the list has great integral humor: de
raison de etrah

Lance and Pound's rankings are excellent relative to cycling's overall
money value. Hincapie does not make a good catcher's income even
adding in the Swiss accounts. But there is cycle ground swell in
related youth markets minus the cost of pickup trucks, engine oil
additives and fried chicken.

Gee Al, that's incroyable.
