I've been looking at the INA site http://www.ina.fr which has numerous
clips from post WWII tours. I saw the coverage of the 1975 Pra Loup
stage where Thevenet passes Merckx in dramatic fashion. What I didn't
realize is that French TV totally failed to capture the pass due to a
technical problem (nice pictures of trees) and since it's the same TV
coverage as the commentators were watching, they only realized
Thevenet passed Merckx until he almost crossed the finish line much
later. Check it out!

That settles it. Thevenet was the best ever.

Here's an older one in which Aubut's speaks.
Jeanson...

But I like this cool little clip of Carpenter and Twigg in the sprint finish
in LA.

Thanks for those videos. I finally figured out that Leontien was
riding that ridiculous bike because she was way pregnant. I also
looked up that fat Pfaff guy who seems to be a celebrity in Belgium.
However, can someone explain to me why she's talking to him while he's
lying around in tiny briefs surrounded by lotions??
The Aubut video was interesting, he really is a dead ringer for Gary
Oldman (who could play him in the movie, I guess it would be Reese
Whiterspoon for Jeanson). More interesting was the link given there of
the Jeanson team mate who managed to escape Aubut http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOaVdiRU_ko
Regarding the Pra Loup clip, it turns out that since they started with
Gimondi passing Merckx, then missed Thevenet passing Merckx, when they
saw Thevenet passing Gimondi, they assumed that he was now *behind*
Merckx because of a mechanical failure. Pretty confused actually.

That was odd. But you don't really notice her belly until the end. She's in
another video making pastry in a TV spot like a guess on the Galloping
Gourmet. Another perk from her success .

That's funny, he could do Oldman in the Fifth Elememt, after those stones!
Yeah, Reese, bingo! Perfect for Jeanson if she can get the French accent
down! Don't you think Jeanson could of wrote a tell all book instead, and
made a tidy sum from such a book? Besides the moral implications, just
saying.

Well, I did happen to see Arnaud Tournant on a similar cooking show
"Chef, la recette !" in France, see page 5 of
http://corporate.m6.fr/images/illustration/PDF_programme_M6/semaine47_06.pdf
That's next to to the picture of "Sandra" who was discovered in the
French version of the reality show "The Bachelor".
