Oh, man! The hyperbole is even more delicious for being straight
faced.
How about these $900 jobbers at over 1900g a pair:
http://www.canecreek.com/track-v-33-wheels.html
Click on a pic and zoom in on the Rube Goldberg hubs!
And what would you charge for a traditional track wheelset that's
lighter, easy to service, etc? A third of that? Could you even build a
customer a 900 buck wheel set with components you stock??

Nope..even with Campag hubs...Surley/Soma hubset and spokes/
rim...about $300

Which would be a hyperbolic sine divided by a hyperbolic cosine.

Let's be straight here. If we find something we can't understand we
like to call it something you can't understand, or indeed even
pronounce.

I dunno. Is uglier faster? Then this one wins.
If only people behind you can see the hubs, and they are repelled, then
Newton's third law says you ought to get some propulsion outta the deal.

Wrong movie, dude. You're thinking of "Friday the 13th". Micheal Myers
is dead, but keeps getting revived like a bad Usenet thread.
OTOH, maybe *I* am Micheal Myers. The movie was filmed in my hometown
of South Pasadena:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_(1978_film)
along with a half-dozen '70's Disney films. I haven't escaped from any
psychiatric institutions... recently.

You don't need cosine if you're 18+

I thought it was Peter being grouchy. That said, the difference in
acceleration due to hub flange stiffness variations is negligible.

So only retro grouches think that $900 is absurd for wheels that are
boat anchor heavy and not terribly aerodynamic? Please tell us what
you think is so special about these wheels that make them such glowing
examples of modern wheel technology.

I dunno- I'll have to ask Todd (the owner of the cow-rumbent). He made
and painted the fairing, though.
