View Full Version : what year Bianchi do I have?

Last Sunday I bought a new Bianchi Nirone 7 Coast to Coast from a LBS.
It has an aluminum frame that says "Alu Hydro" on it and has a carbon
fork. It has Tiagra derailleurs / brifters with a 9 spd cassette, an FSA
Vero triple crank, a nice set of Shimano WH-R500 wheels with Continental
Ultra Sport tires and Wellgo clipless pedals. The frame is painted a
beautiful very dark blue with celeste and silver trim. The fork is black
and celeste.
The last bike I owned was an old early 80's Schwinn so this is a nice
step up for me and I'm very happy with my $749.99 (plus tax) purchase. I
think I got a good deal.
The model year doesn't really matter (or maybe it does since I'm posting
on usenet about it) but I'm curious. There are several different
Nirone's on Bianchi's website but I don't see mine. There is one with
Tiagra components but it has different wheels.

I thought they just started the Coast to Coast thing last year.
My guess: 2007
(What do I win?)

PS: Your model is probably that one on the website with Tiagra, but the
local shop/first owner/someone swapped out the wheels.

Glen...Bob's guess is probably right.
Look at this: http://www.bianchiusa.com/07_c2c.html
It seems to be a page from 2007...look at the Via Nirone 7/Tiagra
Triple,
it seems like a lighter shade of dark blue than the 2008. Is that
yours?
Now, since I'm in second place to verify, I propose that we follow TdF
2006 tradition,
disqualify Bob because he might or might not have excess testostorone,
and award First Prize to me.

That's a picture of my bike. Problem is the specs don't seem to match
the picture as far as the number of spokes. That's what was confusing me
(and the older I get it takes less and less to do that everyday.)
As far as who has more testostorone you guys will have to fight that out
with the French press. They seemed to be experts on the subject back in
'06. Me? I'm too busy countin' spokes ... lol
