Check out this "test".
84% didn't know what they were supposed to do at a yellow light (Looks
like "go like Hell to beat the red" was the most popular response :-).
I bet if they asked the question "do bicycles have any rights at all
on the road" that 99.9% would have gotten it wrong.

Go on yellow is certainly is the correct response, since the person
following you likely thinks it is (unless you like getting punted out
into the intersection anyhow as the light changes to red).

You forgot the link.
The scary thing, in the news article, was that Minnesota's drivers were
rated in the top five. Minnesota's drivers are horrible! Every single
day I see suicidally and/or homicidally stupid maneuvers performed on
the roads.

Sad thing is, the driving test in this country is so easy it's a
joke! To think that 17% couldn't pass it isn't very funny...

Most fail the written portion, not the driving portion.

I've had DMV personnel refuse to get in my car for a reinstatement test.
Twice, with 2 different cars.

They'd fail the driving portion if you based it on the way they drive.
I'd bet most could pass a test - but I'd bet most are lousy drivers.

Why so? Were you already drinking? OR was it that you failed to offer
them a cocktail ?

It's the eye patch and the hook that puts them off.

Both an MGB and a Corvair Corsa convertible scared 'em off.
(4-revocation speeder, bordering 'habitual offender', but not a drinker)

What's on the radio? "Radar Love" or "I can't drive 55" ?
Seriously though - are they allowed to discriminate against a vehicle
as long as it has the prerequisite equipment, etc ?

I would not mind driving the MGB, as long as there was a mechanic
following in a support truck. The Sacred Octagon has left me stranded in
BFE a few too many times. Daylight is also good to have, if the MGB has
Lucas electrical components.

Friend of mine had an Alpha with Lucas electrics - we carried a spare
generator in the trunk at all times.

LOL, I can side you with you guys....I had a BSA Goldstar.
Also had a 66 VW Bug 6v system. My friend told me he could
always tell it was me at night cause I would have one dim light and
one bright light coming down the road.

Come on, now, Lucas wasn't all bad. Didn't they originate
intermittent windshield wipers and modulated headlights? ;-)
