We asked women in cycling what they thought of the color pink for
their gear. Here's what they had the say on the matter...

Pink is just a colour; one of many, and part of an entire
spectrum at our avail. I dunno why it should be so
charged with gender razmatazz. Colours should be free
for /all/ to use. No specific demographic should "own"
a colour. As a straight male, I dare to enjoy pink
sunsets, Pink Floyd, pink grapefruit, being tickled pink,
pink salmon, and in my youth was admittedly a little
impressed by those ol' pink white-rag-top Cadillacs w/
blue taillights and fins. If you have a pink Bic[tm]
lighter, nobody will steal it, and you can find it
(sort of) in the dark.
In Pacific Northwest traffic, pink stands out.
There's no such thing as a pink PT Cruiser or
a pink Lexus, Accord, Peterbilt, Mercedes or Volvo.
Almost nothing on the streets and roads is pink.
Even the background buildings and infrastructure
is so non-pink.
If you want to stand out and be visible, use pink.
cheers,
Tom
