It was?
I scored 95% (alcoholic) without breaking a sweat. 1 wrong answer and
I think I only had to resort to the second clue 2 or 3 times.
True story: a social acquaintance who was a recovering alcoholic and a
facebook friend quietly unfriended me at some point. It might be
because I have in my profile "I am an enemy of Bill W."
I mean, us pre-recovering drunkards aren't even supposed to know what
that's code for, right?

98% (Alcoholic). Only missed one; I tend to question the test itself,
since I suspect wine is actually a more ancient alcoholic beverage than
beer, but, whatever.
140 miles this weekend, BTW.

I'd be surprised. I think the cultures that had access to grain got into
the fermentation game before the cultures that had access to grapes. My
web browser is being persnickety right now, so you can hit Wikipedia
first, and edit it to suit your views before I can check back.

I spent the last four days maxing out on Robitussin doses. I wasn't even
doing it for the alcohol.

Wine could be older.
Fallen fruit ferments very well, thank you.
Wine is made from stuff that ferments into alcohol on its own.
Beer is made from malted barley: barley that has germinated;
activating the enzymes that turn the starch into sugar.
Sake is neither wine nor beer. Originally the enzyme to
convert the starch to sugar was amylase, donated by workers
at the brewery.
Anybody who wants to know how ayrag is made look here

but don't tell me.
