Reminds me of my stomach before a proper dose of bacon. It's like I
have a cutaway engineered for it. No straps though, that would impede
proper swine flow.

Well, on the one hand, bike shorts lack pockets. But jerseys usually
don't, and there's nothing quite like the experience of trying to peel
the wrapper from a Clif bar that's spattered with mud. IMO, this was
an idea born of a misunderstanding of real-world experience with
bottle clips.

Not all; some ATB shorts have pockets.

The Gadget Bottle uses twine? Shellac? Beeswax? Or, is it a weird size
that won't fit commonly available cages?

It probably also was unintentionally designed in a way that will
maximize the chances that if a cell phone is in the cavity, either one
or more of the buttons or the middle of the LCD screen will end up
under the cage contact point. Better to leave the gadget bottle's
cavity empty, put the gadget *inside*, and put a water bottle in the
back pocket of the jersey. Of course, if you do that, then the gadget
bottle becomes unnecessary anyway...

No twine, beeswax or shellac visible. Not even duct tape. How's it
supposed to do anything useful if it doesn't have duct tape on it?

Ooh, I don't think you can blame that on the photographer, this time.

Ridiculously, I think this might be a good idea in a jersey pocket, as
it could both protect the phone and make it easier to dig out. You know,
so you can answer calls on your bike.

Campy, for one, sold quite a few pairs of white-hooded levers once
