I don't know, but its default configuration certainly seems to be set
to make a mess of them - I've seen it on many other occasions. It's a
pain having to stick them all back together again in a text editor.

In any newsreader enclose the URL in angle brackets.
These are line wrapped by MT-Newswatcher.

Not that you have any idea how much you are rubbing it in by posting
cool pictures and not that it is any way your fault or anything like
that but do you have any idea how bloody PISSED OFF I am to find out
that one of the Good Luck Beijing events happened while I am freezing
my ass off in Beijing on an utterly pointless business trip and that
no one told me about it until AFTER IT HAPPENED????
The promise from the person who told me about it (on Monday night, at
dinner, in enthusiastic tones, with details) that he'll try to take me
by the velodrome before I leave Beijing and the fact that he's
arranging for the two of us to go to dinner with some mutual friends
from the Chinese Cycling Association so does not improve upon the fact
that there was track racing at a track in a city that I was in and NO
ONE TOLD ME.
And he knew I was going to be in Beijing. He couldn't have dinner
with me on Sunday night because he was busy with Good Luck Games stuff
and it never occured to him that I MIGHT WANT TO KNOW. Or even that I
might want to GO AND WATCH.
The Chinese Yachting Association is looking more and more attractive.
I'll be attached to a team. That will presumably make it much harder
to forget to tell me stuff.

That appears to be the case. I did dig through the prefs, and there
doesn't seem to be a "don't screw up long lines" option. I'll revert to
my usual policy of parallel full URLs and tinyurls in my posts, where
the URL is longer than one line.
But come on, those are good pics, eh?

Put the URL in angle brackets and it goes through fine.

If I need to post a longer URL, I just reset the pref for how wide the wrap width
is. If it's really long, tinyurl...

Being the contact person / translator for a yachting team sounds much
more attractive than the same for cycling, especially from a business
point of view. Just go cycling in your free time (which you won't
have).

That's right up there with the time way back in architecture school,
studying abroad in Rome, when a 'friend' asked to borrow my camera.
'Sure, no problem.', I says, little knowing that he wanted it to go
with another guy and my goddamn girlfriend on a private tour up inside
the walls and dome of the Pantheon. Gee, why would I want to go do
_that_?! Schmuck. Excuse me, schmucks and schmuckette. And I didn't
even get copies of the pictures. Luckily I'm not bitter thirty years
later. ;)

Doesn't really matter which pro sports association I end up with, it's
all the Chinese government footing the bill.

Still unclear on the concept.
Bicycle racers get table scraps.
Yacht racers buy and sell countries.
