View Full Version : Lance naked advert

There is a picture of Lance circulating where he is naked on a bike
for some kind of advert. However only the picture is circulating and
no story about when, why or for what product. Can anyone shed any
light on this? Or is it a celeb bluff photoshopped picture?
Here is a link to it which was repasted to a Swedish blogg..

I first posted to this Usenet group in the autumn of 97 and can now

That's another cookie-cutter Annie Leibovitz "portrait." When she's not
plagiarizing Lewis Hines, she's trying to make celebrities look deeper
than a kiddie pool using all sorts of contrived poses.
Most glue-sniffers in here who saw that photo checked ebay every day to
see if they could bid on the saddle in that photo.

Well, the picture isn't as elegant or definitive of a great physical
specimen the way the on of Eric Heiden skating (seen from the right
the right leg was forward). This picture was a poster in many public
places, here and abroad. Lance is practically in the dark ad hunched
over so his body is hard to assess.
I'm sure Carl can find that shot on the web for us.

Elegant? I'd rather look at photos of Raimundos Rumsas' wife on her way
to the lesbian bighouse than that piece of ****ing gay-ass art.
I hate to tell you but Lance's 15 minutes are about up and between this
David Hasselhoff Playgirl photo, his numerous (and pathetic) interviews
on Larry "Corpse" King, and his very unfunny appearance on SNL with his
scaggy girlfriend (to quote Stepanie McIlvain in the LemonD phone call),
LA's best hope at PR right now is to make Page 6 of the Post with
denials that he's dating some Hollywood skank.
And when's his movie with Matt Damon or that Brokeback Village People
queen coming out? I can't wait to see how they write 3 broken
relationships and an endless slew of drug accusations into the script.
Who will they get to play the role of Ferrari on those 'secret' trips up
the Madone to check to see if they need to infuse another bag of blood.
A movie about Lance without all this stuff is like a movie about OJ
without the scene where Ron Goldman gets his necked sliced like a fish
in an Alaskan flea market.

Oh I see, if you spell a word wrong in an email it means you know
nothing about the entire subject. You'd think a guy like yourself who
gives trite lectures about spelling to Jesus would know that proper
nouns such as first names are always capitalized, "dave."
But just to show what a punk-ass pretender you are, here's the link that
backs up my allegation that Leibo***** plagiarized Lewis Hiney, and not

Gilla is like TV, newspapers, and the movies. If you know
anything about the subject you see what frauds they are.
Consider 0.50 caliber machine guns. In a movie they will
fire a seven second burst into a Pinto with cosmetic
damage, and the hero pops up like whack-a-mole.
The real thing drills cast iron engine blocks at 300 m.
Note to you merry band of misfits being chased by the baddies:
one round into the chase car's radiator, and AMF.

This isn't bad. Our silverbacked friend tries to deflect the discussion
to his least disastrous (though perhaps, ironically, most telling)
error, and then makes an assertion about first names that might surprise
bell hooks.
But it feels a little phoned in. I think the volume of posts these days
is wearing our hirsute friend down. Quality, Magilla, not quantity.

Hm. This fascinatingly says that she shot some playful homages to Hine,
but doesn't mention the Armstrong shot.
I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you're talking about, and probably
only skimmed that article and hoped nobody would notice it wouldn't back
up your half-baked claims. But hey, you can't google them all.

Verdict: Magilla doesn't know what he's talking about. He grabbed a few
half-remembered critiques of Leibowitz using a search engine, and failed
to even deploy them successfully in his argument. Sentence: 78 months in
supervillain prison, and six months without mentioning velodromes.

My first bicycle was an AMF from a hardware store. Hardly a great

Dickweed,
Even douchebag "dave" who you're blindly defending knows I went caveman
on his ass and he came out looking like a Martha Moxley doll.
Re-read the thread. "dave" said Leibo***** would never be accused of
plagiarizing Hine's style in ANY photo ("Avedon maybe, but Hine, no
way," to quote Martha doll). I pasted the link that shows Leibo*****
has already been accused of in fact plagiarizing Hine (and not Avedon).
Doesn't get any easier on my end.

I sense that you have a general feeling of dissappointment with our
friend. I cannot share your displeasure or assuage your pain. My
only complaint -- for now -- is that I have not seen enough "Little
