I preordered one of the Bottechia carbon frames from the holiday sale over on BikeForums and started thinking about how I wanted to build it up almost immediately. I had this set of Chris King hubbed wheels I bought off of Craigslist back in the summer that were built with the Pretty & Strong pink hubs with Open Pro rims. I didnt really like them much when I first got them but after having them serviced by Matt at Trek Raleigh, they started to grow on me. So, since I had them, I decided to build the bike up around them. I ordered a set of Pretty & Strong spacers and headset cap from Chris King along with some water bottles to complete the ensemble and after the frame shipped, I decided to take it one step further with a set of Jagwire pink cables. Since a portion of the P&S stuff sales goes towards breast cancer research, it's worth the couple of extra bucks for a good cause. Most of the other stuff I just had laying around from past projects.

So, here's the full buildup:

BD Bottechia frame (No Decals)
Open Pro rims laced to Chris King P&S hubs
Zipp Ti skewers
Shimano R700 compact crankset
SRAM cassette
SRAM Rival rear derailer
SRAM Force front derailer
SRAM Force shifters
Ultegra brakes
Terry Fly Ti saddle
Thomson Masterpiece seatpost
Thomson X2 stem (FLIPPED!!)
FSA Wing Pro alloy bars
Profile Design bar tape
Elite Patao bottlecages
Ultegra 6620 pedals
Jagwire cables

Sweet!!! I really like the frame. If I had more experience riding I'd go with carbon. Right now
I can't see how carbon will roll my arse any better than my vintage CrMo. After I rebuilt the frame the bike weighed in at 21.3 lbs. I have to be happy with that for the foreseeable future.

Really is a sweet set of wheels you have there. Lp

Nice bike, but it would not be complete without the pink bottle cages and tires that Kathy B has on her bike;).

I had intended to use pink cages.. the Bontrager ones.. but then I decided using pink cages was overkill. I do plan to put a set of pink shifter covers on the bike when HUDZ releases their SRAM version.. Ill probably change the bartape to black then. Ive also got a new saddlebag coming that should go nicely with the bike.

Nice bike Jay. That FSA handlebar sure makes for a flat ramp to the brake hoods. I bet it's comfortable.

It is.. I have the FSA's on both of my bikes. I also have a set of ControlTech's that are VERY ergonomic, they just didnt work out for me. I need to put them up for sale along with some of the other stuff I have.
