Any interest in a blog addon?

The people that make the forum software we use here have released a blog addon that integrates into the forum really nicely. I was wondering if there was any interest in people being able to post blogs here? If so, I will purchase the software as it's not terribly expensive.

hmmm, might be, but i've got one already and sometimes have a hard enough time coming up with topics. most of my blog stuff is cycling related, sorta like an online journal. i'd be willing to give it a try, but would hate for it not to get used since you have to purchase it...

Let me clarify. If it's only you interested and Jay decides not to do it, maybe it can be revisited later to see if there is more interest. I understood that you may give it a try. It doesn't matter to me either way if it's added.

no need to clarify. if no one else is interested, that's cool. i have my own blog anyways....sure, i'll give it a try, but i don't want him to have to buy it just for me....

Being it Jan the 37th (aka, Feb-6), and being 9 days since Jay's first post, looks like not much interest in the bloggy thing.

So many blogs - so little time.....
But why not a group blog - the folks who run the site and frequent posters who want to contribute articles. Blog format is easier to read than forum posts for longer articles, easily include pictures, maps, you could enable comments so readers could add on. Be nice to see some longer articles here. I'm not familiar with the blog extension to VBulletin but most blogs have access control levels so you could allow users to submit content that would then be reviewed/edited before being approved for posting.
Just a thought.
