Only the Great Ed Doan and his weasel of a stalker Jim McNamara have been on
ARBR for the past week with a chirp or two from the peanut gallery, i.e.,
Tom Sherman. This newsgroup is now dead as a door nail. Why doesn't someone
with a knowledge of how Usenet works please just bury us. It is unseemly to
be above ground when you are dead.

Has there ever been a newsgroup in the entire history of Usenet more
worthless and useless than ARBR? Although all of Usenet is worthless and
useless, ARBR is exceptionally worthless and useless. It was destroyed long
ago by a criminal vandal troll by the name of Ed Gin. The Tom Shermans of
this world are too cowardly to ever oppose criminals. Thus ARBR, lacking a
moderator, perished for want of one.

ARBR was destroyed some years ago by the criminal vandal troll Ed Gin. Jim
McNamara aided and abetted this criminal by bringing his personal feud with
the scum bag to ARBR in the first place. Finally, Tom Sherman, formerly a
stalwart of this newsgroup, stood by and let it happen. The only hero in
this entire scenario was yours truly, Ed Dolan the Great. But one man, no
matter how Great, cannot save a newsgroup when it is composed solely of
idiots and cowards.

ARBR is now a worthless and useless newsgroup thanks to the cowardice of
recumbent cyclists who have no heart for combating criminals. All we get now
are inane messages from the likes of Harry Brogan of Lincoln, Nebraska about
toothpaste. That right there ought to tell you where we are at. Nowhere!

At one time we had many foreign contributors to ARBR, some even from places
like Denmark and Germany. Of course, they were all idiots too, but at least
they were interesting idiots - unlike our domestic variety made in the USA.
I think at one time we even had a college professor honoring us with his
intelligence. Alas, there is naught but any left here now except for the
dregs of society. Even the redoubtable Tom Sherman has gone slumming and
seldom posts anything intelligent anymore.

Let's face it, there is no one left on ARBR except for scalawags and
scoundrels, knaves and blackguards, fools and charlatans. Anyone with any
brains and moral character has long since left ARBR. Only Ed Dolan the Great
remains to sweep up the deposits of manure from such as Mike Fox.

Good idea Papa Tom! However, the Google filters do no good at all as any
number of former members of ARBR have discovered to their sorrow. Only a
moderated group will work. But by all means get these confounded idiots off
of ARBR and unto your nanny group where you can censor what you don't like.
Hells Bells, I would be this world's greatest expert at doing that myself.
In fact, I am your ultimate censor. Believe you me, NOTHING would get by me.
I would only post my own words and the rest of the world be damned.

The main problem with a moderated newsgroup is the extreme boredom that sets
in after about 1 minute. But most folks don't mind being bored. After all,
they bore everyone they come into contact with themselves. Yea, that is
their natural condition - to bore and to be bored.

Does not a user name like Papa Tom tell you everything you will ever have to
know about him? Obviously, he is not Great like I am.

The UseNet is a unmoderated group list. It assumes that all
participants will stay on subject. In the case of ARBR, it is a
discussion of recumbents, not politics, religion, or alternative life
styles. Unlike the bumper of your car or the privacy of your home ,
it's not a place to express your opinions except those concerning
recumbents. I understand that recumbents were once coveted by the
counter-culture and for old time sake it may be cool to throw in a
comment about your misadventures of civil disobedience during a recent
Critical Mass, but your comments and opinions will be weighed.

Simon Brooke knows not the history of ARBR. If he did, he would not say such
ignorant things and make such a jackass of himself.

But Simon Brooke has been what was wrong with ARBR from the get-go. He is a
troglodyte of an English man who only wants to smack those whom he can't
fend off with words. ARBR used to be full of his type but Ed Dolan the Great
has gotten rid of them to the eternal gratitude of all Usenet participants.

It is far, far better that ARBR perish than that it be a stomping ground for
troglodytes like Simon Brooke. Do not the English have their own recumbent
cycling newsgroup? He needs to be among his own kind where they are used to
smacking one another. A more silly bunch of cycling folks do not exist in
this world than the freaking English. They need to stay in their small
kingdom by the sea and not bother the bigger world.

I never denied that I had a ongoing feud with the man, but I deny that
I brought the feud to ARBR and until you can offer proof of your
statement that I did, I contend that you are a liar, plain and
simple. In fact through cross posting Ed spread our feud across
several newsgroups and even ported it over to a moderated forum where
he was suspended from posting, but I repeat I have put the man behind
me and move on and you cannot. You accuse me of covering the same old

The problem is more Jim McNamara than yours truly. He is a weasel of a
stalker who is determined to have the last word on whatever subject is under
review. That will never happen with me because I am Great and he isn't.

I only cross post to the other cycling newsgroups when I feel I am being
particularly brilliant and/or that it is something they need to hear in
order to prevent them from going the way of ARBR. Yes, I know, I am just too
good for this world, but it is part of My Saintliness!

This is what passes for Tom Sherman wit. Anyone laughing? I thought not.

Tom Sherman thinks he performs some services for these
freaking-cycling-newgroups (all one word) by pontificating on trivia and
occasionally advising some ignorant newbie on his bike problem. But all he
is doing is huffing and puffing like the viper that he is. There is nothing
Tom Sherman can contribute that is not already known in spades by anyone who
has been around for a awhile. He has pretty much come to this conclusion
himself as witness his most recent messages. He is a slow learner as are all
scientific-engineering types.

Tom Sherman's contributions these days are to attempt lame humor which no
one ever responds to because they do not even know what he is referencing
half the time. He has been reduced to a poor jokester. Between the two of
us, we are going to kill ARBR - and it will be good riddance to the most
miserable newsgroup that has ever existed on Usenet.

You just can't make up your mind can you? Now either Tom Sherman has
a vast knowledge about recumbents and has been a helpful mainstay of
ARBR or he is a worthless comic incapable of providing any worthwhile
information about recumbents, but you cant have it both ways. Either
you and Tom are going to kill ARBR or the criminal vandal troll beat
you to it, but again you can't have it both ways. Can you author

Ed Gin was the criminal vandal troll who destroyed ARBR as a viable
newsgroup. You played a subsidiary role by accommodating the wretch. All I
ever did was swear a blue streak at him, but you tried to reason with him,

I do not wonder that you do not like the subject brought up, but ARBR is
what it is today because of Ed Gin - and you cannot escape your

ARBR is now dead for all practical purposes. The criminal vandal troll Ed

thats what a reasonable, rationale person does. I don't expect you to

Sure I could have, but stupidity isn't what prevented me from doing
that. I simply chose not to stoop to his and your level. Why is this
simple notion so difficult for the "great one" to comprehend? My
unwillingness to do as you do is not an indication that I am stupid.

If you realize when something is over and know when to let go of
something then realize and let go of this as I have asked. Ed Gin is
gone. My feud with Ed Gin is long over with. ARBR is still hear. Ed
Gin did not kill it. Let it go and move on. I you realize that is
all over and really can let go, then do so. Never mention the man

When I bring what matter up??? I do not bring the Ed Gin matter
up ... you do ... you know the OLD bull**** ... the criminal vandal

Just a note from one of my many admirers!

It is a message like this that encourages the Great One in His mission of
bringing enlightenment to all the denizens of these confounded cycling
newsgroups. If I don't tell them what is good for them, who will. It is a
heavy responsibility, but one that Ed Dolan the Great shoulders with
resignation. It is part of my noblesse oblige, which I bestow freely on my
inferiors with no thought of personal gain. Now you know why I am also a
Great Saint - and a long-suffering One at that.

Tom Sherman is jealous, ever the failing of midgets and dwarfs like him with
small minds. In the "good old days" he dominated this newsgroup by hook or
crook. Most of his posts were then off-topic too. I have more or less
reformed him and he no longer sins so egregiously.
