The city has hired a consultant to do a study and update of the city's Bicycle Transportation Plan, and the first public workshop will be held on April 2 (Wednesday) from 4 to 7 pm at Glen Eden Pilot Neighborhood Center (1500 Glen Eden Drive, close to where it crosses over 440). More at

I'm not quite sure what Raleigh would accomplish by having this meeting. To cover all the bases, CAMPO has designated all roads outside of subdivisions as needing bicycle accommodations.
On the other hand, the BOT has mandated that NCDOT provide accommodations for bicycle and pedestrians in all cases where deemed necessary by the stake holder. Unfortunately they neglected to consider one thing.........MONEY. Every since the federal government has been diverting funds from the transportation system to Homeland Security NCDOT has been coming up short every year.
Guess we can count on gas taxes going up.
