Well, we finished the 5K. Since I had done no recent training and realized at the very beginning that the batteries in my MP3 player were dead I opted to walk the 5K. I finished in 51 minutes. Not too bad for walking I guess. Brian was awesome though, he's done the same amount of running I have in the past few weeks (none) - he ran almost the whole thing, walking only a little bit and finished in 33:30 minutes. Saw Tracy in the parking lot on his way home. The event itself was amazing. There were over 20,000 people registered and I think they said they raised over $2 million. A lot of survivor's and a lot of people wearing signs "In honor of" or In memory of." Now I need to start training for next year so I can actually run!;)

I had a great time. It really showed that I had done all of my training on a treadmill once I hit the hills. I also figured out not to run on the side of the road (running on an angle), but that was too late.
I ended up at somewhere around 42 min. Lagged for a little while hoping to run across a co-worker, but she never appeared. Probably could have done better if I wouldn't have talked to so many people long the way.
The support from the residents along the way was spectacular! For some reason, that surpried me.
Great to see Betsy and Brian there. Looks like they had a good time also.
When's the next 5k?
