Hi, I'm Niles. I recently moved to the Raleigh Durham area a few weeks ago from new england, where I have customarily been an avid mountain biker. Given that there are paved roads and not dirt in front of my residence now, I've now picked up road biking in ernest. So I guess im just posting to say hi. I have been riding the routes around the Durham REI that have been posted up here as its only a mile or two ride from my apt. Say hi if you see me, i'm using mostly MTB gear still haha. you can see me sportin the camelbak mule ;)

I hope to join some of the group rides I see posted here maybe next week or so. But in the mean time if anyone wants to join me for the Rei loops some morning I go sometime between 9-11am I just started doing the 25mile one, my average speed is in the low 17's.

Welcome! Sometimes the Wednesday night Oh Melo Velo (http://trianglecycling.com/showthread.php?t=28510) rides go out that way. Maybe you could join us?

Also, there are some nice MTB trails at Harris Lake (http://www.trianglemtb.com/harris.php), Crabtree/Umstead (http://www.trianglemtb.com/crabtree.php) (you can connect them) and Beaver Dam (http://www.trianglemtb.com/beaverdam.php), to name a few.
