And as usual, the article is getting responses from the people riding bicycles don't belong on the roads crowd...

i guess neither does anyone that could potentially get in the way of anyone else. maybe everyone should get off the road...
im glad they are filing charges. if they didnt, it would send a message loud and clear to anyone in a car that hits a cyclist...just claim you were swerving to miss a deer and its ok to injure/kill a human.
it will be interesting to see how this pans out.

My comments almost always make it there. It's pretty easy to figure out who I am. :) Some of the people posting are amazingly stupid. Thoughts along the line of don't charge the driver, he feels really sorry are so pathetic.

the misdemeanor charges are probably appropriate.
misdemeanor = did something bad because you were stupid.
felony = did something bad on purpose.

lol they must not be moderating very well today. i just called that LacyAprons hag out. she says because her stupid husband almost wrecked because of 'one of us' that we have no biz on the road. i said i guess if a black dude robbed lacyaprons in the parking lot at food lion, she'd say the parking lot at food lion is no place for black guys.
shes an ignorant hag.

I don't think that people who post on boards like that are really representative of the opinons of the greater population. Just like the moral majority never really represented the moral or the majority. :)

Yup, I'm surprised that one got past the normal race censors. The day isn't over, it might still get pulled. While they're being slack, someone should throw in a comment about illegal immigrants too.

i doubt my invite will get past the mods, but since lacy wants to post personal information, i say we go find the hag and pay her a visit. shouldnt be too hard to spot a home with a black denali and white bmw in the driveway.....

Hillsborough, N.C. — The driver who state troopers said hit and killed a bicyclist in Orange County on Tuesday morning has been charged in that wreck. Ryan Idyle, 27, was booked into the Orange County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
He was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, wreckless driving to endanger, operating a vehicle with no insurance and driving left of center.
Idyle was driving his Honda Passport northbound on Pleasant Green Road when he swerved across the center line, hitting Clive Sweeney, 59, of Durham, state troopers said.
Idyle said he swerved to miss some deer in the road.
The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. Tuesday near the Ebenezer Church Road intersection, authorities said.

so much for the old "driving is a privilege, not a right" idea. Honestly, why would deer be in the road if a cyclist was going past or coming towards them? Nice wifebeater, (*&^bag!

ya, he looks like someone who would kill a cyclist, dont he? looks like he could be related to that fat hog in kenly who ran down that poor boy on his bike...

I hope the lack of insurance discredits him enough that the jury doesn't buy the deer story.
