Hi guys.
I just relocated in Raleigh from the cold Wisconsin. Used to by a lazy triathlete (yes the average guy on tri-bars that doesn't know how to ride in group :-) ) there. Grad school duties slowed me down considerably in the last year (euphemism for lab rat life). Now that I'm finally out of it, I'd like to start riding again (especially to justify to my wife the unbelievably expensive bike...). As I said I just got here and I haven't been out at all. Seems though like drivers around here are not as "bike friendly" as back in Madison. Any suggestion to a few safe rides?
Thanks

The slow spokes have rides that they post and they ride every wed night out of Macgreger downs got to the slow spokes part and you will see it. That is a good ride. Then there is Cycling spoken here they have rides all week that you can ride on depending on your pace. Try the Monday ride that is a well done ride. Cary has some nice bike lanes also. Come out and join use.

Welcome to NC. I was in Madison before Christmas and was amazed to see folks riding their bikes with all the snow that had fallen. Of course, around here everything stops with just an inch of snow. Lots of ride options in this area. Come out and join us.

.... Of course, around here everything stops with just an inch of snow. ....
Let's be honest:

everything STOPS on the prediction of snow. even flurries. and all the bread and milk is gone from the store shelves 'cause people have prepared for being snowbound, possibly for weeks.

the entire area shuts down and hibernates if we get an entire inch of snow.
