Anyone using DVR with DirecTV can double click the record button on the TDF,
and it will put multiple rings around the event, which on versus, will
record every single stage, and its smart enough not to record reruns. Also
since its cycling, basically its recording cycling, not the TDF in its
memory, so what happens is it will also record every other cycling event
that comes on later, like Nature Valley, Worlds, anything else that comes on
even months from now including Olympic cycling events. Also if you do the
same to the Olympics or cycling on any channels, like USA, ESPN, it will
also pick these up, but you must first find an episode in the guide and set
it for multiple rings on the record button. Now, all you have to do is wait
for the programs to be harvested and watch or delete the ones you don't need
at your favorite viewing time. This works well if the events have their
times changed and they put it in another time slot, so you don't to worry
about screwups by the networks or scrambling to find air times. Using number
4 on the fast forward allows you to go through a hour segment in a minute or
two to find you stuff, and also getting rid of the massive amount of
commercials. The one thing I wish they added to the DVR is a feature I used
to have on an old VCR recorder, which marked commericals, so that when you
played a hour segment back, it would skip the commericals automatically and
just play the content.
