The bar was not set high. Team Wide Load really set the
standard for ass ugly kit. It was a major fashion step
forward for them when George started wearing different
sunglasses. But nothing could compensate for kit that
looked liked it was designed at Hanna-Barbera.

The new kit looks like it was someone's stock design.
Something off the shelf where you could maybe tweak
the colors on the computer before running the jerseys.
Lots of blank space for sponsor logos. Very generic,
no distinction.

I do think the black collar and trim is a mistake. When
you put a logo on it, the high contrast makes it stand
out and compete with the larger logos for the eye's
attention. The Wide Load logo is on the collar. I dunno,
I just think it ought to be more subtle. All of the
logos are subtle except the high contrast yellow.

In summary, better than the cartoonish crap they had
before. But they are not blowing big bucks on graphic
design.

It's interesting, because Slipstream has looked really good in all its
incarnations - from TIAA-CREF to Garmin.

I thought the kit was an homage to the kit of first great
American cycling team, the Cutters.
