Who was the last rider to wear the Jersey througout the tour ? Merckx,

The last one was Romain Maes in 1935. There was a rumour that Armstrong felt
so irritated in 2005 that he contemplated punishing I don't know whom by
doing the same.

1961?

Its true that in 1961 Jacques Anquetil gained the yellow jersey on day one,
and held it all through the Tour, but the Tour started the first day with
two stages. The first one was won by André Darrigade (who was also the first
to wear the yellow jersey), Anquetil gained it only in the afternoon, when
he won a rather short time trial (28,5 km) by an amazing margin of more than
two and a half minutes.

romminger did it in the tour of spain back in 94 I think; the point
being that he said that it cost him so much physically that he said he
was never the same again.
