Craig Hummer is a little dull, but he's pretty competent.

Go on, pull the other one.

Hummer knows exactly what he's told to say and nothing more. He can't
pronounce anyone's name correctly (even by comparison with Phil, which
is saying something), and every day he makes me think less of him.

Come back, Adrian Karsten, all is forgiven! (Yes, I know he won't be
coming back.)

What I want to know is, who's keeping track of the Liggettisms this
year? He laid a good one today -- "Move your carrots to the front of
the fruit basket." Uh-huh.

True enough, but he's not overreaching, thank
goodness. He keeps things moving, and plays an
ok straight man to Bobke.

"July People" who have a clue aren't really july people, just
infrequent contributors.

Yeah, you're right. Although I feel compelled to observe that Bobke's
personality is such that anyone could plan an ok straight man. The Pope
himself would do a fine job, as would Zsa Zsa Gabor. That's what it
means to be Bobke.

That's tres gentille -- thanks.

The fact is, I'd be around rbr full time if they showed the Giro, the
D-L, etc. on tv, even just a highlights show. It's hard enough finding
out what a girl needs to know about how everybody's doing... *ProCycling*
is a great read, but it's always out of date. And although I tolerate
VeloNews, Bicycling, and various other sites, their design and
stinginess with information make me scowl and gnash my teeth.

Even with all the "hey dumbass" and Usenet performance artists on
rbr, every July I log into my old shell account from grad school
(back when I used to shop at Chain Reaction -- le sigh) to
resubscribe to rbr. Frankly, when rbr is providing better and more
accessible information than all the whiz-bang websites out
there, that's a rather shocking state of affairs.

I don't know, but the odds are 50/50.
