stop by your favorite grocery store and pick up a package of Lemon Pledge Wipes (store brand is ok too). use these wipes to wipe down your bike after your ride. you can wipe every part of your bike with these wipes. once the frame and other bits are wiped then i wipe down my chain with the dirty wipe. this just helps keep road grit from chewing up your chain, cassette cogs and chainrings.
cheers.........Bill

Is the Lemon Pledge Wipes safe on Carbon frames? I have used regular hany wipes in the past and was wondering if Lemon Pledge wipes would be better. At least my bike will smell Lemony Fresh :)

won't hurt a thing on the carbon bike. Lemon Pledge wipes are premium priced but work great. the store brand works just as well IMO.

Another term for this is "Arizona Road Dust". In the recent past it was the standard medium employed for performance testing automobile air filters. Its super fine and, super aggressive (and a pain to clean up). The auto industry has moved away from this now as they have good models for assessing air cleaner performance and, there isn't much new development happening around the filter element.

We still use it where I work for one of the harsh environmental tests that we subject our products to. Its getting harder to get now that the auto industry has quite using it.

I imagine it is pretty tough on chains out there.
