Now that I have been riding for a few months and have been completely hooked into cycling, I am beginning to tweak out my bike little by little.
Making small adjustments and upgrades to get the most out of my bike and make the ride that much more enjoyable.
The last upgrade I made was a proper fit and new handlebars and stem.
That made a huge difference and I can confirm that I feel markedly better during and after my rides.
My newest upgrade is the Adamo Racing Saddle by ISM (http://www.ismseat.com/adamo_saddle.htm).
The saddle is now on my bike and I will be reviewing it over the next few weeks! Stay tuned for my thoughts!

LOL...yeah that would be a bad day....
I rode 20 on it tonight....not too bad actually. The 'sit bones' are a little tender, which is to be expected according to the mfg., but over all pretty comfortable.
So far so good...
Lawrence Jones rides one of those and swears by it.
Im probably going to try a Koobi saddle next.

He Jay, I need a new saddle.........what ya got for sale?
Surprisingly, nothing.. I have a Brooks you can try if you want that they sent me to test. I rode it a few times, it wasnt for me. Everyone else seems to like them.. it caused me a lot of pain.
I still really like the Fly but they just dont hold up that well under me.. shell construction vs weight I suppose. Ive tried a few different saddles this year, none of them have lasted longer than 2 rides. I keep going back to the Fly but having to replace them every 6 months sucks.

I still really like the Fly but they just dont hold up that well under me. What happens to the saddle? My wife is considering the Terry Butterfly, but if they do not hold up, she is not going to be a happy camper.
I have more than 3000 miles on my Specialized Avitar, and it has not had any problems supporting my weight, although the Avitar is 340g, compared to 240g for the Fly.

I have 4500 miles on my Terry Fly Carbon (black color). It no longer looks new, but still functions just fine.

My Terry Fly has spent 3-4000 miles under my big @$$ and is still going strong.

From what I understand, the Brooks takes about 1000 miles to break in, but will then last forever. I am not sure if it is actually the saddle that is getting broken in.

I'm not sure whether it is a good thing or a bad thing that I know that I have ridden 4494.1 miles on mine since I installed it on 6/13/07... and 1088.9 miles on my rear tire and 1587.8 on my front! :)

I think the problem JayC is talking about is that the seat cover of the Terry Fly is glued on to the seat shell and has a tendency to come off over time. If you sweat a lot (like me) the glue does not hold up and the cover will start to come off the shell. Bontrager just came out with a line of seats in different sizes based on your sit bone. They have a measuring device that you sit on at the shop and based on where your sit bone is determines what size seat you need. I also think that Specialized has a similar type seat program.

No.. after talking to some people in the saddle industry, everyone seems to think that Im just wearing out the foam on the Fly's and essentially its compressing underneath me and Im riding on the shell with the foam pooched out. The price you pay for being a Mega-Clyd.
I ordered a Koobi saddle.. Im going to give one of those a try. If it doesnt work out, Im going to get another carbon Aliante and just suck it up I guess.
