View Full Version : TeamCBC Sunday 7/27 Ride!
This Sunday (7/27), TeamCBC is going to reprise the 38 and 26 mile rides for those who want to do a shorter ride or rode on Saturday (Cup n Cone) and want a cool down. Like last week, we are going to split the 38 mile group into faster and moderate speeds. The usual takes place afterwards. Please RSVP as it helps in the creation of cue sheets.
38 Mile group starts at 8 AM
26 Mile Group starts at 9 AM
(If someone wants to do 16 miles, I can provide cue sheets and maps. Just e-mail me)
Thanks all!
Bob
Routes are the same as last week.

We plan to ride the 38 mile at whatever pace I can manage. Did the modified 38 last week and averaged 14.8, hopefully I can beat it or at least match it.

I'm waiting for Bob to show up at a ride in this...
Now THAT is a bike!
Just think, hauling that around for a summer would get you ready for mountains! Then again, you'd never get anywhere, people would keep stopping you and asking to fil their bottles.

A minor redesign reposition the tap could allow for refills on the go and an ice blanket wrapped around to keep it cold and it would be perfect.

Tom and I are strong maybes, most likely for the 26, although 38 is a possibility if we can get moving early enough. I got the 26 cue sheet from last week's posted ride, can you post the 38 too?

Tim and I tried out an extended version of the July 13th bunnlevel beer run (http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/6237022) (also known as the "CBC bonus metric" today, that I'm calling the bunnlevel no-beer run (http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/6352118). We started in Cary instead of at CBC, hence the no-beer at the end. :)

86 miles averaging 18.1, 'twas a nice day for it
So planning on doing the "CBC 38" tomorrow (which actually was 39.3 miles last time we did it), but probably at a recovery pace.

I vote that Team CBC get one of these for running the MS-150. It might take all day to go round the course, but would you really care?

Nice ride, this is a good route that seems to be working well for us. Thanks as always to Greg for the hospitality afterwards.
Sure was humid out there though. My jersey weighed maybe 3 pounds more when I took it off than before the ride. First time I can remember in a while sweating that much on a ride.

I think we need to work on the route to make it look more like the outline of Italy. It is already fairly close.
Heh, I was thinking the continent of Africa....
Bob
Thanks to all who rode. It was fun as usual, although my quads still don't think so!

We had a good ride, though that 26 mile route is a little hillier than I would prefer. Sorry Andrea, but we just didn't make it up in time to ride at 8 am. I have no idea what we averaged because I forgot to reset my computer from the cup n cone ride. I ended up with a 2 day average of 15.7 and a distance of about 57 miles. I'm in Roanoke for training this week so no riding for me:(. See you next week.
I'm going to change up the 26 miler next time. Probably a better course, and it follows a similar route as the others we have been doing.
We'll see what folks think.

Bob - how about this route, it is 28 miles.
http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=15000
Hard to make it shorter and still go by the c-store. You could shave another mile or two by taking Burt Road or even Duncan Cook, and stopping at the Friendly Grocery at Buckhorn Duncan / Cass Holt...
Exactly what I was thinking. A 26 mile no rest stop ride would turn at Duncan Cook. I think the 28 would be better because folks get to rest for a sec and refill as needed. Thanks for the map!
