break it up? then let it get back together again?
Is this a soap opera?

In the back of my mind I've been thinking about who
Evans might hire in Bourg d'Oisans to help him out
in lieu of his worthless teammates. CSC looks to be
well positioned to wind it up, and looking at the
lead group I'm not sure Evans is going to have a lot
of places to look for help.

Whatever it is it's stupid because Evans, Menchov, and van de Velde are
still there. So is Kohl. Schleck.
Riis isn't the brainchild tactician you people think he is. He's an
egghead EPO user.
His previous tactic was to rely on a gynecologist to help Basshole win
the Tour.

Perhaps he has already concluded that the Tour can't be won by CSC. Andy
was the best prospect but had an off day. The other two can't lose the
better timetrialers Evans and Menchov. The last resort for Riis is: make
the team look good. You know, work it for the money.

It appeared that CSC was willing to sacrifice one yellow jersey for another, by having the Schlecks constantly wreck the pacing of the group "chasing" Sastre. It would make sense if you thought Sastre could actually get a 2+ minute edge on the climb, but who in their right mind would think that? It also makes sense if you assume that Frank isn't going to be able to drop Cadel, since Cadel vs Frank in the TT gives Cadel the victory... but it still seems just a bit crazy. And if it really did play out that way, Frank gets the team player of the year award.

Tylenol, Basshole...Sastre is also on the dope.
Don't kid yourself. Sastre is from Spain - who the **** are you kidding?

I would like to have been a fly on the wall of the
CSC team car. If Riis asked Fränk if he could drop
Evans and Fränk answered 'no' then Sastre is the
team leader at that point.

Dumbass -
Yes. and no.
Schleck was a good teamate, but he knows he can't beat Evans in a TT.
Of the two, Sastre was going to be the one the contenders were going
to allow to get a gap. There's no way they'd let the yellow jersey
ride up the road.

Evans is gonna win this Tour because CSC ****ed up. They lost the race
with those dorky-ass moves. Schleck needed to drop Evans..he could have
done it.
You don't win the Tour by riding defensively. Evans was maxed out and
the Schleck dopers couldn't drop him because they are not champions.
Neither is Riis. Riis is a doper on Rogaine. Those paintball games
they play in the offseason didn't matter today.
Both brothers from Luxenbourg are bigtime dopers and so is Sastre since
he's from Spain.

Dunno. With 10km to go, the gap was 34 sec. At the end it was 2
minutes. It looks like the Evans group lost most time when they had
Stephane Goober doing the steady pacemaking.

I can see this, but I fear that CSC lost the Tour b/c of
this...potentially.
Oh well, racing is tactics within tactics and you have to pick one.

good at it.

Talking of time gaps.. I did not realise quite how pointless
that gps based one was.. I mean watching the gap to Menchov
for example it would bounce from 10 to 30 seconds then back
again.. and the highest value I saw was 38 when Menchov was
on screen about to rejoin the yellow jersey group!

I can see why Evans is known in these parts as a wheel sucker;
yet there is no wheel to suck in an ITT. Yes?
