Anyone interested in doing the slow spokes 20 mile route at Shearon Harris Visitors Center Sunday at 8:30 am? I am a 12-14 mph rider from Slow Spokes. Come on out.

Count me in on Sunday! Any interest to do more miles, say about 35-40? What do you think?

I would like to do more, but I will stick to whatever the game plan is.

I'll map out a route and we can see what everyone would like to do.

I would love to join also. I vote for the longer route also, but will take whatever comes. Where do we park? In the visitors center?

We park at the visitors center:

Shearon Harris Visitors' Center,
3932 New Hill Holleman Road,
New Hill NC, 27562

I think it is exit 89 off US1 south. Then about 1.75 miles on the right.

I was wondering if you had permission to park out at the Visitors' Center or maybe one of you work out there? I think the larger the group you have the better to have permission. I know Security likes to know, especially if it's a lot of vehicles.

I don't! How do we get permission? I have ridden out there a few times with slowspokes and a few times just as our own group.

I think you can park at Harris Lake Park - on the same road as Shearon Harris visitor's center just a little further down the road.

I'll be @ the Jimmy V Cycling Celebration/Cary Cycling Celebration. There is a great 25 mile supported ride starting @ 10AM. Lunch is provided and there is a Swap meet (sale of bike stuff between 1-3). Hope to see you there!

Yeah, depending on the route you go it may add a small amount of mileage to the route but not too bad. I like Harris Park as a starting/ending point - they have restrooms which can be useful...
